Vision

A community where mental health care is stigma-free, accessible, and tailored to the lived experiences of each person, including marginalized and high-risk populations

Core values

Compassion, competence, collaboration, cultural humility, confidentiality, and continuous learning.

Why our clinic was created

Yorel Clinic was formed in response to growing community needs—particularly among first responders, survivors of trauma, and people managing chronic illnesses who require integrated mental health and psycho-social support. The founders recognized gaps in accessible trauma-informed care that respected spiritual beliefs and cultural differences. Yorel Clinic aims to be a safe, effective alternative to one-size-fits-all mental health services by offering personalized treatment plans within a warm, professional setting.

Our team and clinical expertise

Our interdisciplinary team includes licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, trauma specialists, and clinicians trained in integrative modalities. Team members hold certification in trauma-informed therapies (e.g., CPT, TF-CBT), have additional training supporting first responder mental health, and embrace a client-centered approach that blends evidence-based strategies with optional spiritual or holistic practices. Clinicians frequently engage in continuing education to maintain high standards of care and to incorporate emerging best practices.

Service philosophy: trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care

We practice trauma-informed care by ensuring physical and emotional safety, building trustworthy relationships, giving clients choice and control where possible, and supporting empowerment and resilience. Cultural humility is central; we acknowledge the impact of systemic forces on mental health and strive to understand each client’s cultural background, spiritual beliefs, and personal identity. This shapes treatment goals and modalities, from secular CBT to spiritually-aligned mindfulness practices.

How It Works

Specialized focus on first responders

We combine clinical expertise with practical understanding of high-risk professions, offering confidential counseling, crisis debriefing, and resilience coaching tailored to shift schedules and occupational cultures.

Holistic integration

Clinical psychotherapy is complemented by mindfulness, breathwork, spiritual healing options when requested, and psychoeducation that addresses body-mind connections.

Chronic illness support

We partner with clients and medical providers to support mental health through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery for conditions like diabetes, stroke survivors, sickle cell disease, and cancer.

Accessibility

Evening appointments, telehealth, and flexible scheduling help remove common barriers to care.

Evidence-based and outcome-focused

We use structured assessments and regular outcome measures to ensure treatment is progressing and to adapt care when needed.

Community engagement and partnerships

Yorel Clinic builds partnerships with hospitals, primary care practices, community organizations, and first responder agencies to provide coordinated care. We participate in community education and training on trauma awareness, mental health first aid, and stress management. Our outreach includes workshops on self-care for caregivers and targeted sessions for first responder teams to foster organizational mental wellness.

Privacy, safety, and ethical practice

Client confidentiality is foundational and protected in accordance with state and federal regulations. We take mandatory reporting laws seriously and will discuss limits of confidentiality during intake. Our practice environment adheres to HIPAA-equivalent standards for secure record-keeping and telehealth platforms to protect client privacy.

How we measure success

We define success by client-centered outcomes: symptom reduction, improved functioning, strengthened relationships, and the ability to return to meaningful work and life activities. Clinicians use validated tools to measure symptoms over time and collaboratively set measurable goals with each client. Regular reviews help track progress and adjust treatment plans to keep therapy aligned with your evolving needs.

How to get started

Initial steps include a brief phone consultation to understand immediate needs and schedule a formal intake assessment. We verify insurance benefits when requested and provide transparent information about fees and payment options. The intake visit establishes clinical history, treatment priorities, and an individualized plan moving forward.
